Gearbox and 2K Games have just posted on Twitter that a new Tales from the Borderlands game is coming later this year. Telltale Games, who made the original 2014 game, will not be working on the new game.
It's been confirmed that Gearbox, the developer of the main Borderlands series, area creating this new game. The latest Tales from the Borderlands is currently being worked on in-house by Gearbox, and it looks like 2K Games will be publishing it. There are no precise details yet about the new game in the series, and while it's being called a sequel online, it seems to be a whole new story. Gearbox and 2K have confirmed the game will be a "new adventure", including "new characters and new tales".
The announcement was made on April 21st during a panel at PAX East by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. He also stated that a bigger announcement will be coming from the developer later this year.
