Top 5 Games That Should Be Added to Xbox Game Pass

Updated: Sep 26, 2022

I’ve spoken about Xbox Game Pass before, and it’s no secret that it’s an amazing service that offers well over 100 games to both console and PC for up to $15 a month. And whilst this service is really good, there is always room for improvement in my opinion. So here are the top 5 games that should come to Game Pass.

5. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

With the recent addition of “Yakuza: Like a Dragon '' to Xbox Game Pass it would be hard not to talk about Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla coming to Game Pass as well given that these two titles released on the same day. AC: V would be an amazing get for the subscription service as it’s the newest in the assassin’s creed franchise but also a well-known, popular AAA title.

AC: V for those that don’t know is a massive open world RPG, where you play as Eivor, a Viking raider leading their clan of Norsemen to England in the hopes of establishing a permanent home.

4. Dark Souls Remastered

Fans of both Game Pass and Dark souls have been asking for this game to come to the service for a long time, Dark Souls Remastered is an enhanced version of the first Dark souls’ game, running at 1800p at 60 fps, dark souls remastered is well known in the gaming community for its difficulty and powerful bosses that will kill you over and over again. This game is all about patience and learning the enemy’s move set to overcome the harsh land of Lordran. For anyone wanting a challenging yet rewarding solo or up to 4 player co-op experience, Dark Souls remastered would be a perfect game for Xbox Game Pass

Get used to this sight.

3. Divinity Original Sin: The Source Saga

Divinity Original Sin: The Source Saga includes both Divinity original sin 1 enhanced edition and Divinity Original Sin 2. If you’re a fan of games like Balder’s Gate or dungeons and dragons then Divinity original sin is the game for you, with heavy RPG mechanics, large variety of choice, and entertaining dialogue, Divinity original sin 1 and 2 will keep you entertained for hours, they also provide both split screen co-op and online co-op in case you want to go through these games with a friend (or up to 3 friends in divinity original sin 2 with 4 player online co-op).

Divinity original sin’s combat usually will involve quite a bit of strategy, with the interactions you’re able to do with the environment the combat in this game is quite memorable, nothing better than shooting water at an enemy then electrocuting the water to stun them in my opinion.

Given the multiplayer, combat system, RPG mechanics and the many other aspects of this game that I haven't touched on, Divinity Original Sin: The Source Saga is a game that needs to be on Game Pass.

2. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

What would you get if you mixed Skyrim and monster hunter together? You’d probably get an amazing game known as Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, an Open world high fantasy RPG. There’s a lot of different aspects of this game that make it truly great, but I'll only go over a few.

unlike other games in this list dragon’s dogma is single player, however in dragon’s dogma you are able to have up to 3 companions known as ‘Pawns’, you create your own near the start of the game and you are able to upload that pawn to the server which will allow other people playing the game to use your pawn as a companion as well to aid them in their quests, when your pawn returns from their quests the knowledge from the monsters they fought and the quests they did will be kept so their automatic actions against certain enemies will be more effective. For example, if your pawn would ordinarily use lightning on a certain enemy, but then was borrowed by another player and they fought against the same enemy, your pawn could return knowing that the particular enemy is weak to fire and use that instead on that type of enemy in the future.

Another Great aspect of Dragon’s Dogma is the freedom that you get within combat, by giving the ability to climb on top of enemies and attack the particular parts that you wish (similar to monster hunter). This will make the choices you get in battle to be significantly more varied which is always a good thing.

The story and choices you get in the game make you feel like it’s truly a world you can get immersed in. I won’t spoil any part of the story but from my experience it’s amazing. And so other people can experience the same feeling I do when I play this game, I feel it should be added to Xbox Game Pass.

1. Hasbro Family Fun Pack

One of Game Pass’s many charms is the fact that when you play with friends, everyone that has Game Pass uses the same library of games, making multiplayer sessions significantly easier to organise. For that reason, I have put the Hasbro Family Fun Pack as number 1. This pack includes 4 classic family board games. Monopoly, Risk, Boggle and Trivial Pursuit. Having the Hasbro Family Fun Pack on Game Pass would increase its user base by quite a lot, making the online multiplayer scene active again, as well as making Game Pass more of an option for Family and friends who just want to play games together. That is why this collection of games gets the top spot.

And there you have it, those are my top 5 games that I believe should come to Xbox Game Pass, feel free to comment below and tell us what games you would like to see be added into the service in the future and why.
