Three Reasons to try Elden Ring

When Elden Ring was first revealed at E3 2019, gamers thought From Software was aiming to deliver an experience we've been accustomed to over the years. An intertwined world, a story that is hard to understand, and interesting environments that we want to explore. But the studio decided to present a huge surprise that will change the concept of Souls games forever, as it confirmed that Elden Ring will be the first game in the series to offer a completely open world with new gameplay mechanics, in addition to helping the genius writer George R.R Martin in writing the story of the game and its world.

Today, let's talk about three main reasons why you will be excited to try Elden Ring!

1. Souls open world game?

From Software's games feature huge and vast worlds that offer diverse environments in which players live for dozens of hours. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice game presented us with the largest world so far, and although the game world was giant, it was not open in the sense of the 'Open World'. Rather it was intertwined and this is the point that the studio paid attention to during the past decade in the Souls, Bloodborne series and Sekiro. From Software studio always manages to make you feel that the game world is open but in fact it is an interconnected world.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team decided to change their usual way with Elden Ring, yes the world will remain intertwined and interconnected as usual, but it will be completely open and will offer a group of giant kingdoms that you can explore in the way you want.

The world of Elden Ring will basically be divided into six kingdoms, each kingdom featuring a main leader that you will have to face to finish the story. Each of these kingdoms offers environments larger and deeper than any game that the studio has previously made, plus a giant open world that connects these regions together. Also, the game will offer us underground caves to explore with a set of secret areas that some traditional players may not find.

This is From Software's biggest studio world to date, if you want to focus on finishing the game's story, it will take you in the range of 30-40 hours, but if you decide to go on side adventures and explore various secret environments and caves, the game life will double with you to 60-80 hours Which means Elden Ring will also be the studio's longest running game!

2. George R.R Martin and his role in writing the story

None of us do not know who the great writer George R.R Martin is, his gigantic fame came with the 'A Song Of Ice And Fire' series of novels. These novels have been transformed over the past decade into one of the most successful TV series in history, the great Game of Thrones. This is of course regardless of what happened in seasons 7 and 8. The farce of a story and characters, the reason is that George R.R Martin has not participated in recent seasons and the creators of the series had to finish it without returning to George's original ideas.

Given the strength of George R.R Martin's writing, Hidetaka Miyazaki decided to collaborate with him to write the events and tell the story of Elden Ring. George's primary role in Elden Ring is to write down the details of the characters and events that this world has encountered before the game's story itself begins. From Software games have always been known for their strong storytelling through the environment and this was George R.R Martin's primary role in the game.

Martin confirmed in a recent TV interview that his work on the game ended years ago, but From Software from time to time shares some designs for characters, monsters, and environments with him. According to my personal information, he worked on the game between 2017 and 2019, Martin founded the main idea of the world and then went to the developers From Software to design the game world based on George's ideas.

3- New gameplay mechanics

The main focus of any Souls game is always the gameplay. The gameplay in Dark Souls and Bloodborne is smooth and powerful and you can always feel the power of every stroke of your sword and its penetration into the body of the enemies. This was radically changed with Sekiro Shadows Die Twice in 2019 as the gameplay became lighter with more acrobatics for the first time in From Software games such as jumping, climbing, and using the Grappling Hook to avoid dangerous encounters or reach higher ground in the environment.

Elden Ring is a straightforward blend of Dark Souls and Sekiro's gameplay features. The game will bring us the smooth and powerful gameplay that we are used to in Dark Souls, as well as the jumping and stealth features from Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.

As shown in the Summer Game Fest commercial, the game will allow you to engage in battles as you see fit for your character and weapons. You can come into direct confrontation with enemies and kill them head-on, or you can use stealth to your advantage especially at night time.

Another distinctive addition in Elden Ring is the idea of Dynamic Weather, this feature means that suddenly it is possible to find it raining and night and day will automatically follow in the game. Therefore, it is possible to wait until it gets dark and go to finish a task incognito at this time, for example.

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice also changed the gameplay as you relied on one main character with only one main weapon throughout the game, but you were able to change your Prosthetic Hand and modify it with different abilities. Elden Ring will return again to the origin of the series by providing various characters that you can design to your liking with dozens of weapons and more than 100 Weapon Arts. These abilities add to weapons to get various abilities in confrontations.

I expect Elden Ring to be From Software's most successful game to date. Those reasons I mentioned are just a small part of what will be presented in the game world, and the studio promises us the best experience in the Souls world. My experience with this type of games started in 2019 with the release of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and in just two years, I've enjoyed all of the studio's previous games. I've never been so excited in my life for any other game and I hope to see more performances and details in the coming period.

Enjoying our work. Give us a follow everywhere and tell a friend.
