The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has been delayed into 2023. Nintendo has released a video on its official Nintendo YouTube channel to announce and apologise for the delay. While it was still expected for a 2022 release a few months ago, Nintendo has been forced to move the release period.
Nintendo's delay announcement was made by The Legend of Zelda series director, Eiji Aonuma, who was also the host of the video. He explains in the video that the game has been delayed so they can ensure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be as good as possible. They want to ensure players will “experience something special” from the upcoming game.
The game is still being called by its temporary name “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2” but the video did contain a small amount of new gameplay footage. More information and the real name for the game will be coming in the near future.
