PlayStation kicked off its latest State of Play event with a big announcement that had been brewing for a while. Resident Evil 4 has been confirmed, and the showcase also revealed the remake's release date. We haven't been given much information about what to expect, but the new Resident Evil 4 appears to be a slight departure from the original.
The trailer reveals some new features, and a PlayStation blog post confirms the story has been re-imagined to give it a "fresh feeling." It's set in a remote European village, which shares some similarities with Resident Evil 8: Village, but there's no major link between the two games.
Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 will be released on March 24th 2023. More news will be coming soon and we can expect more official PlayStation blog posts about the game later this year. Gameplay reveals are thought to be coming later this year.
