Former PlayStation developers have announced they have joined forces to create a new development studio and reveal their first game. The new studio is called Liithos and its debut game is Ashfall, an NFT project.
Ashfall is described as “the first true Web 3.0 AAA title for PC, console, and the Hedera network” which uses a cryptocurrency called HBAR. Limited information about the title is available at the moment but we know it's an open-world game set in a world damaged by climate change. It's a narrative-driven single-player title but it also includes PvP and PvE as it progresses.
Liithos has been announced by Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin as a “AAA Gaming and Entertainment Studio”. The two co-founders are clearly interested in making more than just games but it's uncertain what directions the company will move in. Mumbauer and Garvin both previously worked at PlayStation on titles such as The Last of Us, Uncharted and Days Gone.
