News Bit: Dead Island 2 is in active development

Deep Silver has announced that Dead Island is still in active development and reached out to GamesRader+ to confirm the game is still coming. It was first announced around 8 years ago and since then, the development progress has been more than a little bit turbulent.

It started with Techland in 2014 but was moved to another developer when Techland began work on Dying Light 2. Dead Island 2 was handed over to Yager which then closed its doors in 2015 then the game moved to Sumo Digital and then Dambusters in 2019. While this obviously isn't ideal, Deep Silver insists the game is still making steady progress.

This announcement from Deep Silver comes after known leaker Tom Henderson released a video report claiming the game was in development. He states the game is making good progress despite all the trouble it's had over its development.

No release period has been confirmed yet but rumours suggest Dead Island 2 may be getting a 2022 release.
