News Bit: Bloober Team suspends sales in Russia and Belarus

Bloober Team is one of the latest developers to announce they are taking action in response to the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine. The developer is following a similar one by CD Projekt and has announced they will stop selling their games within Russia and Belarus.

Making the announcement on Twitter the developer states “as the Russian unprovoked invasion of Ukraine continues, killing defenders and civilians alike, we at Bloober Team have decided to stop selling our titles in Russia and Belarus across all platforms”. It states the company have been working with their partners to pull the game down from stores in both countries. The first store where this ban will take effect is Steam.

The team hopes to express “full solidarity with the Ukrainian people” with this move and that this will help to put “pressure on Russian and Belarussian public opinion”. Bloober Team explains that they “believe a global joint resistance can help make a difference” and that they “want to be part of a world that doesn't turn a blind eye to warmongering”. It also adds that they will not “stay neutral when human lives are at stake”,

While players from Russia and Belarus should still be able to play any games they own by Bloober Team, it will no longer be possible to purchase them from across different digital stores.
